Don’t have a History Quest Audiobook Yet?! Benefits of Audiobooks for All Learners

Memorial Day Audio Book BLOG ( x px) ()

Our History Quest audiobooks can be beneficial for students of all ages (and for us adults too!). We hear your “buts…” so here are some shortcuts on how an audiobook might work for you.

We are already using the printed books now…
Life gets busy. Having an audiobook on hand gives you the option to listen to a chapter in the car, on the go, or when your voice just needs a break (think: flu season). It is also an excellent way to strengthen your child’s reading skills as you have them read along to the audio.

We just bought the printed curriculum but don’t plan to start until the fall…
Get a head start! Repetition has academic benefits (especially spaced repetition), proven to cement concepts at a deeper level in the brain. Consider a listen in the summer before you deep dive into each chapter throughout the year.

We are using another social studies curriculum or must use one required by our state/homeschool charter school…
The History Quest books can be used as standalone historical “story books” that supplement any learning plan. Choosing an audiobook version allows you to make that enrichment easy.

My kids are not homeschooled now so they don’t need a curriculum…
All of our History Quest books can be stand alone books (without the curriculum-building Study Guide). Give your students a leg-up on their in-school studies or fill in the gaps. Schools don’t always have time to go as in depth as our books do, especially in the elementary years when history is not necessarily taught chronologically. And older students can listen in as they study Ancient History or U.S. Civics in school. Because the History Quest “stories” are fun and engaging, listening won’t feel like more homework.

My kids are older and using History Odyssey…
History Quest audiobooks can be enjoyed by both youth of all ages and adults! They are a great multi-generational way to learn in the car during summer roadtrips. Pick an era that matches your History Odyssey curriculum for extra “light lift” enrichment. Or get an intro to U.S. History (that’s not currently available at the History Odyssey level).

I’m only here for R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey. We aren’t doing much social studies right now (see also: “my kids think history is boring and/or I hated it when I was in school”)…
A History Quest audiobook is perfect way to get an easy intro to history when you’re busy focusing elsewhere. History Quest is told through stories and “history hops” – leaps through time when readers get to meet historical figures and see history first hand. Think of it as a type of literary nonfiction that’s enjoyable and doesn’t always have to be part of a formal curriculum.

I am a teacher or co-op leader and my students all have their own printed books…
Perfect for multi-tasking! Save time when you prep an upcoming lesson by giving the audiobook a quick re-listen.

Free audio SAMPLES are available for a listen on our website. Visit each book’s product page for the sample.
